A DELEGATION FROM THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR COMMUNITY REHABILITATION PARTICIPATES IN THE EUROPE DAY IN RAMALLAH

A delegation from the National Center for Community Rehabilitation represented by Mr. Khaled Abu Zaid, Consultant of the Centre, Ms. Mayassa Sha’at public relations coordinator at Ramallah on 09/05/2013 with the attendance of Dr. Salam Fayyad, head of the caretaker government and the European Union’s representative to the Palestinian National Authority, Mr. Jan Gat Rutter.

NCCR showed a range of products of women with disabilities who have been trained within the project “Combating discrimination and human rights abuse against women and children with disabilities”.

The event was opened by head of the caretaker government Dr. Salam Fayyad. Fayyad praised the support provided by the European Union for NGOs and community based organizations and said this aid reflects the care of the European Union about the development of the capacities of these organizations to be able to provide services to very important categories of our society including those with disabilities. He said that support for NGOs also contributes to strengthening the relationship between the Palestinian people and the people from countries of the European Union.

Fayyad added “the European support helped the Palestinian state to rise towards development and efficiency, pointing out that the financial support of the European Union is not only limited to the economic sector, but that came to maturity in the national organizations.”

For his part, the representative of the European Union in the Occupied Palestinian Territory said: “No one knows what is the change is going to happen in the Arab region, but the relationship between the European Union and the Palestinian people will remain strong”

The “Europe Day” offered also play shows for the children, with remarkable presence, to see the Palestinian Products and marketing them.
